Why Blockchain
Why I minted the negatives on the blockchain
The discovery wasn't a personal prize. It was a testament. These photographs belong to a collective memory — the diaspora, the war, the people who never came home.
I chose to mint the sixty-six images as 1/1 NFTs on Manifold for three reasons:
- 01Permanence
The blockchain preserves provenance and prevents erasure. These images cannot be lost again.
- 02Access
NFTs allow a global audience to hold a piece of history without needing a museum wall.
- 03Custodianship
Collectors become keepers of Jörg's story, not owners of a commodity.
